Stephen J. Jones is the Director of Executive Education at Bangor Business School in Wales, UK. The University is celebrating its 140th Anniversary, & the Business School launched one of the first Banking degrees in UK in 1969. BBS Executive Education has two globally-unique offerings in the area of financial services –  the ‘Chartered Banker MBA’ with professional award of Chartered Banker status awarded by Chartered Banker Institute of Edinburgh; the ‘Financial Crime & Compliance MBA’ with parallel professional award of Financial Intelligence Specialist (FIS) from Manchester CF of Toronto.

Stephen’s first encounter with ‘compliance’  was working in south-east Asia in the early 1980s, abiding by the requirements of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He has been helping managers with their own development for over 30 years and seen the field morphing from a competency tick-sheet approach to today’s more integrated behavioural perspective – much more useful in Stephen’s view!
