Chief Commissioner Carl John is a distinguished Law Enforcement professional with an impressive 39-year career in various roles within the Police Force.

His expertise spans a wide range of responsibilities, and he holds a master’s in business administration with a specialization in general management. One of his key interests lies in understanding the factors that drive employee engagement in the workplace.

Currently, Chief Commissioner John serves as the Chair of the Association of Chiefs of Police of the Dutch Caribbean. His reputation is built on his exceptional knowledge of data sharing and information management. Under his leadership, a regional information center was established in the Dutch Caribbean Islands, facilitating direct connections with law enforcement counterparts across Europe, the USA, Caricom, Interpol, and other critical organizations. This initiative has significantly improved intelligence-led operations within the Dutch Caribbean police force.

Chief Commissioner John is also a respected member of several international law enforcement organizations, including NobLE and the FBI-LEEDA. His collaborative spirit and commitment to advancing law enforcement efforts are evident through his strong relationships with fellow commissioners in the Caribbean region.

Beyond his professional duties, Chief Commissioner John actively participates in steering committees for the Dutch Caribbean. Additionally, he served on the selection committee for the appointment of the Prosecutor General for Curacao, BES, and Sint Maarten.
